About Me

Hey there! I'm Patrick Corkum – the IT Business Leader, Coach, Mentor, and Consultant who believes that work should be less like, well, work, and more like a fun adventure.

When I'm not helping IT managers conquer their careers and lead their teams with confidence, you might find me brewing the perfect cup of coffee or trying to outsmart the fish in the river, but I'll be honest… those fish are really swift!

I'm all about leading people by building trust and genuine connections. After all, IT leadership isn't so much about fixing bugs and writing code; it's about creating a workplace where people love to come every day. A place where challenges are tackled together, and every success is celebrated – preferably with a great cup of coffee, or a great beer. No IPAs, though, okay?

Speaking of coffee and beer, I’m a connoisseur who takes his brews seriously. My dad always told me that whatever you do, do it well, and I’ve carried that philosophy into every aspect of my life. Unfortunately, leadership in IT often falls short of this ideal. It's not that people want to do it badly; they just either don't know what good leadership looks like or don't know how to implement it.

That’s where I come in. I’m here to make sure work is not a drag and leadership is done well. This world needs more happiness in it and less negativity.

When I'm not in the office, you'll find me fishing, destroying the competition in cornhole, or maybe throwing discs on a disc golf course. Yes, I have a really big problem getting addicted to hobbies, especially games that involve throwing something.

So, if you’re looking for someone who can make your IT environment not just efficient but enjoyable, look no further.

Let's connect, have some fun, and turn your team into a powerhouse of productivity and positivity!

Leading people isn't an innate talent; it's a skill that can be learned. With the right resources, effort, and practice, anyone can become an effective leader.
